Paperwork to have ready

• The title, signed over as dispatch tells you, and your photo ID. New York generally requires the title to transfer a vehicle; very old vehicles have different rules, so ask us or check the NY DMV.
• Take your license plates off and surrender them to the DMV before you cancel your insurance. In New York, canceling insurance on a registered car can lead to a registration suspension.
• Remove personal items, E-ZPass tags and parking permits.
